DAO Proposal #5: Changes For Anchorland Reward

Overview

This proposal seeks to adjust the current reward structure for Playermon’s leaderboard to not only reward the top players but also to incentivize a broader base of players to participate and compete within the game. The objective is to increase player retention, attract new users, and enhance the competitive spirit of the game.

  • Begin on 6 May 2024 1200 UTC

Description

The current reward distribution primarily focuses on the top 50 players in the leaderboard, which might not be sufficiently motivating for new or less experienced players to engage deeply with the game. To address this, we propose the following options for restructuring the rewards:

Option 1: Remain current rewards

  • 1st Place: 50,000 SGEM
  • 2nd Place: 35,000 SGEM
  • 3rd Place: 15,000 SGEM
  • 4th to 10th Place: 7,500 SGEM
  • 11th to 20th Place: 5,000 SGEM
  • 21st to 50th Place: 3,000 SGEM
  • Total: 292,500 SGEM

Option 2: Expand rewards to Top 100

  • 1st Place: 50,000 SGEM
  • 2nd Place: 35,000 SGEM
  • 3rd Place: 15,000 SGEM
  • 4th to 10th Place: 7,500 SGEM
  • 11th to 20th Place: 5,000 SGEM
  • 21st to 50th Place: 3,000 SGEM
  • 51st to 100th Place: 1,000 SGEM
  • Total: 342,500 SGEM

Option 3: Increased for top 50 and expand to 100

  • 1st Place: 80,000 SGEM
  • 2nd Place: 50,000 SGEM
  • 3rd Place: 30,000 SGEM
  • 4th to 10th Place: 10,000 SGEM (60,000)
  • 11th to 20th Place: 7,500 SGEM (75,000)
  • 21st to 50th Place: 5,000 SGEM (150,000)
  • 51st to 100th Place: 1,000 SGEM (50,000)
  • Total: 495,000 SGEM

Option 4: Introducing Positions 51-300

  • 1st Place: 50,000 SGEM
  • 2nd Place: 35,000 SGEM
  • 3rd Place: 15,000 SGEM
  • 4th to 10th Place: 7,500 SGEM (45,000)
  • 11th to 20th Place: 5,000 SGEM (50,000)
  • 21st to 50th Place: 3,000 SGEM (90,000)
  • 51st to 300th Place: 1,000 SGEM (250,000)
  • Total: 535,000 SGEM

Objectives

  • To increase player retention by offering rewards that motivate a wider range of players.
  • To attract new users by creating a more inclusive reward structure.
  • To enhance the competitive spirit by providing a tangible pathway for more players to earn rewards.

Rationale

A more inclusive reward structure will encourage players to continue competing and improving their rankings on the leaderboard. By extending the rewards to more players, we can foster a more active and engaged community, which is essential for the long-term growth and success of Playermon.

Implementation

The proposed adjustments to the reward structure will be implemented at the start of the next gaming season ( Season 22 ) to allow players to understand and adapt to the new system. Detailed communication will be provided to ensure all players are aware of the changes.

Impact on the Economy

An analysis of the impact of increased SGEM distribution on the game’s economy will be conducted to ensure the long-term sustainability of the game. This includes monitoring inflation rates and adjusting the reward structure as necessary in future seasons.

By adopting one of the proposed options for adjusting the reward structure, Playermon can create a more dynamic and engaging competitive environment. This proposal aims to balance the need to reward top performers while encouraging greater participation across the entire player base. There will be multiple DAO proposal in coming months.
